Trades marketing agencies UK: 10 compared on price, terms and proof

Nine UK agencies that market trades businesses, set side by side on the three things that decide whether an engagement works: what it costs, what you sign, and what they can show you. Published facts only. Where an agency does not publish a figure, we say so.

Trades Marketing Agencies UK 2026-11-08 Rankings
Side by side comparison chart of UK trades marketing agencies with price and contract columns

What this comparison measures

Three criteria. Price: is a figure published, and what is it? Terms: contract length, notice period, setup fees, who owns the assets. Proof: named or anonymised case studies, or none.

We did not score agencies on claimed results. Headline growth percentages are easy to publish and hard to check. A published price list and a rolling contract are not.

The order below follows our overall read of value for a typical one to five van trades firm. Larger contractors should weight the commercial specialists higher. For the method behind every list on this site, see how we use published pricing models to rank agencies.

1. Rated Media (Premilead)

Best for: Home improvement firms wanting paid-social appointments with AI qualification

Rated Media runs paid social lead generation for roofing, HVAC, solar and remodelling firms. The stack is lead qualification through smart forms, landing pages and AI voice agents, automated booking, follow-up and no-show prevention.

Pricing is not published. The site says clients typically spend £1,000 to £3,000 or more a month on ads, paid direct to the platforms. The management fee is separate and quoted.

Proof is the weak point. No case studies are published and the on-site testimonials read as generic. Trustpilot reviews exist under the Premilead name, which is where diligence should start.

Verdict: Capable appointment-setting model for high-ticket work, but you are taking the results on trust.

2. Riley Marketing

Best for: Small trades firms wanting the whole lead-capture stack on one fixed fee

Riley Marketing sells one product: a foundational growth system for a fixed £149 a month at time of writing. It includes an SEO-focused website with service and location pages, Google Business Profile optimisation, Google review automation (including reactivating past customers), missed call text back, and a CRM with lead status tracking and branded quote pages on the trade's own domain.

Terms are the clearest in this list. The site is built before the client pays. No setup fee. Unlimited revisions. Cancel any time. Google Ads, Facebook and Instagram ads and local SEO are optional add-ons rather than bundled costs.

Founder Tom Riley has 10 years in search and lead generation, previously led organic growth at an insurtech, and has built and run his own lead generation sites. Clients deal with him directly. Listed trades include electricians, plumbers, heating engineers, roofers, builders, window and door fitters, decorators, landscapers, plasterers and kitchen fitters. Published builds include an industrial painting and roofing contractor (Anglia Decor) and an Essex building firm (SET Building & Brickwork).

Why it sits second rather than lower: the missed call text back and review automation are the two features most one-van firms lack, and most agencies charge for separately. At this price, the main thing you give up is scale. Ads are extra and there is no account team.

Verdict: The lowest-risk entry point in this comparison for a firm that has never paid for marketing. We review it in full in our Riley Marketing growth system review.

3. Roofing SEO Services (SEO Consultancy Ltd)

Best for: Roofers wanting a single-trade SEO specialist with town exclusivity

Roofing only. Based in East Ham, London, founded 2012, led by Dr M Mansoor Siddique. Services cover Google Business Profile and map pack, postcode town pages, citations, UK link building, technical SEO, review management and lead tracking.

Pricing is published: monthly packages from £499 to £2,599 depending on local competition, no setup fee. Rolling monthly on 30 days' notice. The client keeps all assets. One roofer per town is written into the agreement.

Case studies are anonymised and focus on map pack and keyword ranking movement rather than revenue.

Verdict: Transparent on price and terms. Only relevant if you are a roofer.

4. Market Maestro

Best for: Contractors moving from domestic to commercial work via LinkedIn

Market Maestro is B2B. It runs LinkedIn outreach and management for construction firms chasing £50,000-plus contracts, alongside construction SEO and website building. Clients approve all content. The process is sold as a four-stage 'Hi-Vis Method'.

Published starting prices: LinkedIn outreach from £850 a month, wider management from £1,100. One case study, a decorating contractor winning tendered commercial work.

Verdict: Not a domestic lead-gen agency. Shortlist it only if your next step is commercial contracts.

5. Tea Powered Projects

Best for: Trades wanting a premium bespoke site on a managed platform

Nottingham agency building on its own CMS platform, no WordPress plugins. Services: web design and CRO, SEO (local, technical, managed, GBP), hosting, IT support and AI consultancy. Trade clients include plumbers, builders, electricians, locksmiths and drain engineers.

Pricing is published and at the top end: bespoke trade site £4,500 upfront plus a monthly platform plan of £95 to £1,000, 12-month minimum. Managed SEO from £500 a month. Case studies exist for a locksmith, a drain engineer and an auto locksmith.

The agency also serves non-trade sectors.

Verdict: Serious build quality with the longest commitment in the list. For a firm that knows it will still be trading on the same site in three years.

6. FJ Digital

Best for: Builders wanting organic social rather than lead generation

St Albans social media specialist founded 2022, run by Megan (surname not stated). FMB Associate Member and a St Albans local award winner. Services are social media management and content creation, profile refreshes and hourly marketing consulting.

No prices published. No formal case studies, though client Instagram examples and a results page are on the site.

Verdict: A social presence service, not a lead engine. Pair it with something that brings in enquiries.

7. The Build Agency (Orbit Lead Generation)

Best for: Trades targeting commercial tenders through outbound

Maidstone-based. The core service is cold email outreach to contracts and procurement managers, backed by social media, SEO, web design, a purpose-built CRM and photography. There is a 30-day guarantee: the agency keeps working free until a genuine tender opportunity arrives.

No published pricing. One case study, a plumbing and mechanical contractor, covering sales, tender pipeline and PQQs.

Verdict: A niche outbound model with a clear guarantee. Irrelevant to domestic-only firms.

8. We Build Trades

Best for: Multi-van home service firms wanting an all-in-one platform

We Build Trades describes an AI-powered growth system joining website, paid media (Google, Meta, TikTok, Bing), AI lead follow-up and a CRM pipeline, with area exclusivity. It claims 300-plus trade companies and says the system has been refined since 2017. Trades named are heating, electrical, roofing, solar and EV charging.

No pricing published. No case studies published. Location is given as Halesowen in an exhibitor listing rather than on its own site.

Verdict: Big promise, little public proof. Ask for references before signing.

9. Leads 4 Local

Best for: London tradespeople wanting a priced local SEO retainer

Tooting-based local SEO agency with a South and South-West London focus. Services: local and Google Maps SEO, website design, audits, reputation management, PPC, citations and schema. Aims for top-three Google Maps positions within months.

Published monthly tiers at £349, £599 and £999. No case studies published. Client list spans roofers, plumbers and electricians but also dentists, estate agents and restaurants.

Verdict: Clear pricing, no proof, and not a trades-only shop.

Which one fits your firm

One to three vans, domestic work, no marketing budget yet: Riley Marketing or, if you only need a website, one of the fixed-fee trades agencies we compared separately.

Roofer with a budget above £500 a month: Roofing SEO Services, because the exclusivity is contractual rather than a sales line. See what area exclusivity actually commits an agency to.

Contractor moving into commercial tenders: Market Maestro or The Build Agency. Different channels (LinkedIn versus cold email), same goal.

Established firm wanting a premium site and prepared to commit for a year: Tea Powered Projects.

Whatever the shortlist, get proposals in the same format before deciding. Our guide to comparing agency proposals side by side sets out the columns to use.

Frequently asked questions

Why are published prices weighted so heavily?

Because they are checkable. An agency that publishes a price has decided to be compared, and that usually correlates with straightforward terms elsewhere.

Is the cheapest option always the right one for a small firm?

No. The cheapest option is right when it covers the basics you lack: a site that ranks locally, reviews, and a response to missed calls. If you already have those, spend goes further on ads or SEO.

Which of these agencies offer area exclusivity?

Roofing SEO Services writes one roofer per town into the agreement. We Build Trades advertises area exclusivity but does not publish the terms. Check the contract wording in both cases.

How do I check an agency on this list is legitimate?

Look up the company number, read any third-party reviews, and ask for a client you can phone. Our guide on checking a UK marketing agency is legitimate walks through each step.
